The health of the gums has a direct influence on the proper nutrition, implantation and maintenance of the teeth. The tannins in ratanhia have an astringent effect on the oral mucosa: this helps to reduce gum irritation and prevent periodontal problems. Rathania root extracts are complemented by other plant substances such as myrrh, which has a soothing effect on the oral mucosa, and refreshing essential oils of mint and spearmint. Weleda Ratanhia Toothpaste contains a calcium carbonate-based mineral detergent that cleans teeth thoroughly and gently. Regular use removes plaque (tartar) and provides reliable protection against cavities.
